Seraph gave a smile that didn’t quite seem to reach her eyes. “Oh? I do hope you don’t consider me in either of those categories.” She said pleasantly.

“Transmutation..? Hmmm.. Alchemy, well that explains things quite a bit more. I know of alchemy, but i do not know anything else other than it’s basic general of legend.” She paused, curious. “Do you do Alchemy?”

Was Alchemy another option for the power she sought?

Envy shook his head, “We homunculi can’t learn Alchemy, because we can’t open the gate.” he grinned. “You need a soul to do that and we’re fresh out.” And to be qualified to be a nice little sacrifice into our little stone here.” he said holding up the red stone. “you just have to simply be in the wrong place at the wrong time.” his grin grew wider as his eyes fixed on hers with a cruel gaze.

“Like a boss.”

Seraph’s eyes narrowed in interest at that comment, and she tilted her head. “You don’t have a soul? Now that’s a fascinating tidbit. What else does that inhibit then? Do you crave one since you’re lacking one? Do you seek others?”

She chuckled though at his ‘wrong place, wrong time’ comment. “Ah, I see.” She frowned though at his stare.

” … … … … … ….Are you considering harming me?” She said, scowling slightly. It would be a nuisance if so, she wasn’t sure of his strengths, his weaknesses, or even truly her own. She was still seeking power.

Something else he said re-caught her attention. “Wait, ‘gate’?” She was slightly confused at his ending remark, but chose to ignore it.

Envy rolled his eyes, “You sure ask a lot of questions dont you.” he huffed. “The gate opens when every alchemy is used, i dont really know much about it though.. some nonsense about the truth.” he said using finger quotes. “If you want to know more about the gate i would consider asking an alchemist… Us homunculi just do what we’re told, we don’t need to understand.” he said putting a fist on his hip.

Seraph just gave a little shrug.

“I ask questions because knowledge is power. And I’m seeking power.” She stated without remorse, as if it was a perfectly natural thing to do.

” …Huh. Well, Sadly, I don’t believe I know any alchemists.” She snorted though at his second comment.

“Whatever you’re told? So you’re just tools in the end? How sad. I honestly thought you were much more. You seemed it. Perhaps even have the potential for it too.”

Durin frowned as the bartender approached him with a smile, feeling slightly uneasy already. Why had he decided to come in here again? Oh yeah. A break. Except, right here was one of the main reasons Durin didn’t take breaks. He didn’t know how to deal with people. He didn’t play well with others, and his words usually didn’t come out right. That’s what Melanor was supposed to be there for.

And that was why he was here in the first place, after all, he’d lost teh blonde angel boy, and hadn’t had luck in finding him in a week.

“Er.. Not really. ” He said, and his scowl became more prominent. “First time in a place like this. what’s best for ‘winding down’ and ‘relaxing’?” the way he said those words looked like he wasn’t too familiar with the terms. He wasn’t a work-a-holic, he just never saw the point in stopping every so often. Not to mention his version of ‘relaxing’ was paperwork instead of field work.

Even though the other male was scowling at him, Ray’s smile still lingered on his lips. It was important in his occupation to keep a friendly attitude. Happy guests would come back after all.

Ray nodded, “Would have thought so. Winding down and relaxing you say? Mhm, you should start with something not that strong then.” It really wasn’t that much of a deal for Ray. In the curse of his career he had met a lot of different kinds of people. He always had found a way to adjust to them.

However, Ray turned and tapped a glass of beer for the man, “Here, that should do.” Ray placed a napkin on the counter and put the glass on it. Another smile before he asked, “Say, what brought you here? And can I know your name, hm?” Well, for Ray these questions were normal. It was his natural curiosity.

The other was still smiling at him. It left a sharp pang in his chest, reminding him of melanor. He broke the other’s gaze, looking away first and observing around the area. He listened with half an ear to what the man said, and blinked at the drink brought to him.

For a moment, Durin doubted his ability, or the safety, of drinking it, willingly poisoning one’s body and tampering with the senses. but then again, when Had the Agent ever been the wary one? What was there left to be wary for? Well, there were tons of things that could go wrong still. But he should be relaxing. So scowling again, this time more at himself and frustrated with his own hesitation, he picked up the drink to sip at. IT was… different. Very different. He couldn’t tell if he liked it or disliked it, so he tried another mouthful.

The man didn’t just leave him to brood though, instead staying and being friendly. It made the black haired male’s skin crawl, made him itch. He’d never realized how socially inept he was at these kinds of things until he was put on the spot without his backup.

But questions were easy. He could answer questions. “Durin Takahashi.” He said, responding to the question of his name. confidentially wasn’t really a big deal right now anymore, right?

Why was he there? He scoffed a bit, and  took another sip, debating what he should say. “I .. was looking for someone. But I haven’t had any luck in finding him, so.. I decided to try and take a break. I wound up here.” He said. “…’Trying new things’ I suppose.”

Yume blinked at Sayaka. “Now suddenly there’s demons to fight too, besides witches? How complicated. We’re like superheroes, huh?” she giggled at the thought, and watched as the other girl revealed her soul gem, blinking at the color and shading. Don’t let it get that dark, huh? Yume’s was exact opposite as it was right now, it was bright and shining, brand new and light. But at the same time, it was the most beautiful thing yume had ever seen, Sayaka’s gem. So this was her soul? It.. made Yume’s own heart ache at the sight. She tore her eyes away though and nodded at the blue haired girl’s instructions.

As they entered the witch’s barrier and noticed the sudden change of Scenery, yume gasped.

“W-wow!! this is so cool!!” She exclaimed, looking around at the night-time setting and flickering fireflies. It was..beautiful!! And they were in a feild?Weren’t they just in an alley?

“eh? ” The brunette watched as Sayaka transformed, and looked at her own ring, holding out her hand to summon the soulgem.

Once it had been brought out, it shone brightly, as Yume figured out how to activate it. It was.. really easy. Almost like re-connecting with something once lost.

Swirling light seemed to emerge from the small sphere like gem, encasing Yume’s body and carressing it with light before forming two large bird like wings tinged the color of her gem before they dissappeared, bursting into feathers that seemed to go everywhere, and revealing the changed outfit that looked almost like a dancer’s robes or some sort of ceremonial garb, with a bird like crest on her chest, the wings seeming to stretch upwards, trying to take off.

Two imitation wings, attached as part of the fluttery garb resided on her back, reminiscent of something she’d left behind so recently..

A fox-like wisp swirled around her next, and she giggled as the little spirit thing ran allaround her body like a pipefox before it split, two going into her hair and spreading out like feathery tails for the clips, and the other diving down and landing straight on the decorative belt hung low and attached to her skirt, shining brightly as the shape showed the location of the soul gem’s settling.

A string of rosary type beads wound around her wrist, before settling prettily, and ribbons wound up her feet and legs creating the old fashioned type sandals.

Yume blinked, and stared at herself. This outift!!! She lightly touched the soft fabric, and the firmer parts, before poking at the beads around her wrist and then touching the clips in her hair.

“Ahahahahahah!! That was… awesome. Most definately fun!!” Her energy seemed boundless, but this time it was tinged with an almost sadness.

Yume knew this outfit. but it…

Everytime she tried to fully remember it, the memories seemed to slip away like sand. Deciding to ignore it, and focus on the present, she beamed a smile at Sayaka.

“Let’s go then shall we? Your outfit looks cool. Like a white knight.” Her grin grew wider.

Sayaka’s a little taken aback. What a flashy transformation sequence that is, she thinks. Not necessarily a bad thing, after all, transfer student’s was really short and to the point, Mami’s was arguably just as flashy what with the fancy footwork and such. Foxes and bird wings, though?

She tilts her head. Sure, why not? She has musical notes and a water motif after all. Wings were probably pretty handy.

“Yeah, that’s what I’m talking about!” She grins widely at you. The next comment makes her pause. “A white knight…That’s what I try to be, anyway! But enough about that, you’re right, let’s keep going!”

She starts to walk, her cutlass gripped tightly in one hand.

“An important thing to remember about barriers—they can look harmless, but it’s still a witch’s dimension. We have to be careful in case any familiars pop up.”

The field stretches on and on and on…There doesn’t seem to be anything unusual about it, save for the fireflies. There’s a strange tension in the air, like a storm is nearing.

“Oh, hey! Let me see what weapon you have. Might be good to test it out a bit.” She shakes her cape, sending some swords into the ground. “I can generate swords, and my ability is that I heal. Really fast.” She’s…not certain if it’s a good thing for her to stress her soul gem by healing, so she hopes it doesn’t come to that, Yume. She doesn’t realize the rosary beads are likely weapons.

Yume followed Sayaka as she began to lead, looking thoughtfully at the outfit.

“You know.. something that’s always bugged me about these kinds of things is how SKIMPY the outfits are. I mean like.. I know we’re supposed to be able to defend ourselves, but isn’t it almost asking for trouble?” she commented, before flushing and covering her mouth sheepishly, giggling.

“sorry sorry. Rather inappropriate thoughts I suppose.” She looked around the field they were walking through andfrowned.

“About this ‘barrier’… Are we like… in another reality or dimension? Or are we actually traveling through the normal space but unable to see the normal reality, but others can see us? Or are we like ghosts here..? “

Her questions stopped though as the other girl suddenly stopped and turned to face her, and shook her cape causing several other swords to drop to theground, and suggests they test out her own weapon.

“Ah, alright…” Yume said, a little unsure about this, but focuses, frowning.

“… ..It’s a little difficult..without a threat in front of me..” She muttered, before getting that apprehensive feeling that a storm was coming. The rosary bead string around her wrist suddenly glowed, and grew slightly in size, before the small fox-face-shaped beads broke in half, floating up on their own and surrounding Yume like a defensive barrier first.

“Oh. Well that works too.” She murmured, entranced by the light each one gave off. “I bet these work as an offensive weapon too. I don’t know what other abilities I have. Not yet anyway. Like I said, I’m brand new at this.”
